The Vine opened July 27th, 2008 at the Bernardo Winery, North County, SD. This new venture fills a need in North County; a small and affordable performance space for local and domestic artists, as well as international performers. The Vine will be the new home for Mojalet Dance Collective to train and perform regularly, along with Soulscape Dance Company, and a variety of other guest artists. The new venue is open to Dance, Music, Theatre, Poetry, Film, Visual Arts and more. The Vine offers a unique experience for our patrons as they enjoy the beautiful surroundings of the grounds at The Bernardo Winery, and have a chance to explore the fine dining, coffee shop, bakery, art galleries, jewelry crafters, retail stores, and more. Mojalet and The Vine, in conjunction with the Bernardo Winery, will offer more than just a performance, together we offer a special experience. A healthy imagination not only creates a resourceful and productive individual, but it also builds self esteem which is an important tool in life. By sharing the gift of creativity with adults and children, and providing an outlet for self-expression, we are setting the stage for the future of the community and society.Mojalet's creative art space, The Vine, seeks to:
- stimulate the imagination through performances in dance, music, theater, film, and other events
- develop and strengthen creative art skills by offering workshops and classes in dance (and other art forms) for children, teens, and adults
- encourage self-expression and individuality in all who participate in workshops and classes
- foster community involvement and continue to develop a concrete and positive relationship with the North County Community through Arts events
- provide programming appropriate for the entire family
Mojalet is a non-profit organization providing an Art Center in the heart of the Rancho Bernardo Community.The heart of the support will come from our local community. We encourage individuals, families, public organizations and private corporations to please assist us in supporting our goals. As art programs continue to get cut from
school budgets, it is crucial to keep art alive in this artistic educational center.
