Mission Statement
Mojalet Dance
Collective is a contemporary dance company designed to
enhance the community and bring awareness of dance as an art
form to the non-dance community. We hope to enlighten all
members of society – all age groups, cultures, families, the
able-bodied and disabled alike – to explore, learn, and
share the beauty of expression through dance, in both the
usual and unusual places.
Dance as an
age-old communal art form, is a reflection of who we are and
what we feel, how we interact, problem solve, worship, and
celebrate all things that make us human.
Come experience
the athletic and moving experiences that Mojalet brings, as
we offer art with heart.
The
work created for Mojalet Dance Collective is
often design oriented using classical music and large
ensembles. The work varies from traditional modern dance, to
classical, post modern and sometimes a flavor of jazz.
Choreographers and guest artists over the past decade include
Faith Jensen-Ismay, Jean Isaacs, Katie Stevinson-Nollet, Erica
Buechner, Terry Wilson, Terry Shipman, Peter Kalivas, Mary
Reich, Ellen Segal, George Willis, Melissa Nunn, Patricia
Sandback, Monica Bill Barnes, Carol Abney, Linda Zambrano,
Mary Neuru, Stacy Scardino Sagley, Sarah Fanoe Kaye, Sadie
Weinburg, Heather Zornes-Almanza and Loni Palladino Lane.
You
can join the Mojalet family by attending one of our events,
making a financial contribution, or become a volunteer.
We would welcome and appreciate your involvement.
